Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the Shower Filter last?

4-6 months (36,000 L or 9,510 GAL).

How do I know when it's time to replace my filter?

Simply register your product to Filter Ease and we'll send you an email and/or text reminder when it's time for a filter replacement.

How do I prepare my Shower Filter before use?

  • Unscrew the shower head from the wall-mounted pipe.
  • Screw on the Shower Filter directly to the wall-mounted pipe. Make sure the silicone gasket is in place to create a water tight seal.
  • Turn on shower and let water tun through shower filter for 2 minutes to flush out any media residue.
  • Re-attach the shower head (or hose) to the output of the filter
  • Turn on shower and let water run for 1 minute before using the shower. Check for any leaks.

Why can't I use my Shower Filter with a "low-flow" or "stop-flow" shower head?

In order to get the correct pressure for proper filtration, the Shower Filter needs to flow at 1.6 gallons per minute (6 liters per minute). This means that shower heads that purposely restrict water flow will most likely result in sub-par water pressure, and as a result are not compatible with the Shower Filter.

Can I use the Santevia Shower Filter with a telescoping or wand style shower head?

Yes, this will work if the Shower Filter can still be installed on the pipe coming from the wall, and the shower head is not “low-flow” or "stop-flow".

My Shower Filter has a reduced flow rate after a few months of use, what is going on?

While the Shower Filter is wonderful for filtering contaminants like chlorine and heavy metals, it is not designed for source water with high levels of sediment. Your Shower Filter might have been clogged by a high level of sediment. If your water source contains a high level of sediment, you may need to replace your Shower Filter more frequently.

Can I install the Santevia Shower Filter backwards?

No, the Shower Filter is designed to have water flow through the stages in a specific way. If you install the filter in the reverse position, that will hinder performance.
